St Mary the Virgin Church

SYNOPSIS

St Mary the Virgin Church

Thortech International completed surfacing for the

courtyard area of St Mary the Virgin’s Church in Shropshire.

A resin bonded surfacing system was

installed to rejuvenate the appearance of the area.

The project was completed in April 2014.

BRIEF

The church building of St Mary’s is situated at the centre of the attractive town of Cleobury Mortimer (the gateway to Shropshire). 291m2 of the church courtyard required resurfacing. This was commissioned by Phillips and Curry Ltd who were, in turn, completing rejuvenation of the church for the Parish of Cleobury.

PROCESS

The Thortech International team used the Thorgrip system to lay the resin bonded surface. The old surface was prepared before the new system was screed onto the surface and covered in a 1>4 Amber Flint aggregate. The surface was then swept to remove any remaining loose aggregate.

OUTCOME

St Mary the Virgin Church

The project was completed within just 48 hours during the week leading up to Easter in April 2014. The new surface was ready for the church to open for Easter services.
